Council of “Armenian Association of Developers” NGO, with its decision #1 of December 29, 2015, approved “Green Construction. residential and public buildings. rating system for sustainability assessment of human life activity environment” organization standard, ԿՍՏ ԿՀԱ 39373645.01-2015, developed in the frames of “Improving Energy Efficiency in Buildings” UNDP-GEF project.
The Methodology for performing energy audit in residential and public buildings was developed to within the framework of «Improving Energy efficiency in buildings» UNDP-GEF project and submitted to the National Institute of Standards for approval.
The Sixth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development that took place in Yerevan, Armenia on 29 September – 2 October 2015 gathered more than 260 energy experts from about 40 countries representing governments, civil society, business community, banking sector, academia, and international organizations. The Forum approved the Yerevan Statement of Common Action intends to make the Hammamet Declaration operational, and includes specific recommended actions and measures.

The country is actively working towards the preparation of the UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development – HABITAT III, which will take place in 2016 and is expected to adopt the New Global Urban Agenda. Armenia has already completed and submitted to the HABITAT III secretariat its national report on housing and urban development and is engaged in multiple projects on urban planning and energy efficient housing

This website is the initiative of the GEF/UNDP Projects on Promoting Energy Efficiency in Construction sectors of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The respective Projects were launched in these countries during 2008-2009.
The UNDP/GEF Projects express interests of international community to energy efficiency in buildings since such attention provides for significant advantages in climate change mitigation effect. Countries of Central Asia and Armenia can contribute to achieving international goals in GHG emissions, while improved energy efficiency secures long-term economy of funds, support healthier economy and improve welfare of people.
